He smiled, offering to lift him onto his shoulder again.
“Sure, bud.”
Turbo used Ralph’s hand for leverage as he resumed his perch on the wrecker’s shoulder.
“I wish I had a bathing suit…then we coulda gone to the beach, too.”
“We’ll have to get you one soon,” Ralph agreed.
“Then we could have more swimming lessons, if you want.”
“Yeah, I’d like that.”
Turbo perked up.
“You know, Mr. Litwak is going to go on vacation in a couple weeks!”
“He is?”
Jeez. He really needed to pay more attention when he was doing his job! He’d been spacing out way too much lately, thinking about Turbo whenever he could.
“Yeah. You know what that means — we get a whole week off!”

Oh, he definitely knew what he wanted to get his son now! But it was supposed to be a complete surprise… Turbo had basically picked it out himself.
Maybe he could find something else, too… Something just as special…
Turbo almost ask if they could get the bear. Almost.
But Ralph had said that they were only here to window shop…
So (with some reluctance, admittedly) he set it back down on the shelf.
Ralph couldn’t help noticing Turbo’s disappointment. He almost got the bear for him right then and there. But the thought of his face when he did give it to him kept the wrecker firm in his resolve to make it a surprise.
He put the little white bear back as well, balancing it on one of the Ralph bear’s legs.
“…so!”
Turbo did his best to shake off his disappointment. After all, he still had his real papa bear.
“Where to next?”
“It’s your turn to pick, Champ.” Ralph told him, slipping back out into the street.
“Can we…I dunno, go get ice cream or somethin’?”
He smiled, offering to lift him onto his shoulder again.

Same name =/= Based on
(( Really? It seems like too much of a coincidence.
Besides, despite the fact that people keep saying Turbo Time is based on RallyX…I haven’t seen any profound similarities between the two games at all. ))

Ralph grinned at that, chuckling again.
“Perfect!”
He rubbed his hand over Turbo’s helmet, as if ruffling nonexistent hair.
“Although…maybe you don’t care much about bears.”
Turbo pointed to a mallard plush.
“Maybe you prefer ducks!”
He glanced at the duck, then back to the bears.
“I do like ducks… but I think I like the bears better.”
Turbo was surprised by this.
“Really? How come? I thought ducks were your favorites…”
He shrugged, smiling a little.
“I guess I can just relate to them.”
“Why, just ‘cause I put them together like that?”
Although the first bear really did look like Ralph.
“That. And they’re big, clumsy, stocky, feared… and for some reason…”
He picked up the white bear, examining it a moment before turning back to Turbo, smiling.
“someone liked them enough to see their good side.”
After all, someone had to come up with the idea of the teddy bear.
“I guess so…”
Turbo picked up the “Ralph” bear. Its fur was so soft.
“It feels cuddly like you, too…”
His smile widened a little.
